Think of a podcast as a radio show. Each show consists of a series of individual episodes that you can listen to how and when you want - on your computer, using your MP3 player, on the TV or through your web browser.

LOADS OF CHOICE
If you've never listened to podcasts, you're in for a treat. Along with the AFC DONScast, there are comedy, movies, food, music, books etc. - you name the topic and you'll find podcasts about it. Not only do you have incredible choice, you can listen whenever and wherever you want.

SO HOW DO I LISTEN TO THE AFC DONSCAST?
You can listen to the series of AFC DONScast programmes, one at a time (say using your web browser) or you can 'subscribe' to the entire podcast series using software available for your computer.
When you subscribe to a podcast, all new programmes will be automatically downloaded to your computer as they are published to the internet. If you have an MP3 player, like the iPod, the next time you connect your device to your computer, your podcasts will be downloaded for listening on the go. Also, if you have Apple TV - it will do exactly the same.

WHAT SOFTWARE CAN I USE?
Here at the AFC DONScast, we like iTunesm but there are others available to download such has Yahoo! Music Engine and Zencast.

RIGHT, I'VE DOWNLOADED iTUNES, WHAT NEXT?
You need to install iTunes - this is quite a simple process, double-click on the file you downloaded and follow the on-screen prompts.

On Windows you'll have an iTunes icon on your desktop and in your Start/Windows menu. On the Mac, iTunes will be in your Dock or Applications folder on your hard drive.

IMPORTANT: For the next bit to work you need to be on the internet!

Launch iTunes (follow any on-screen prompts if you are running it for the first time), click on the iTunes Store on the left menu, then in the search bar at the top right of the screen, type 'AFC DONCAST' and press RETURN on your keyboard.
This will list the AFC DONScast in a blue section at the top and in the main list. Click on the first icon in the blue section - this will take you to our section on iTunes where all the past episodes of the AFC DONScast are available.

To listen to an episode you can double-click on any of the listed episodes, to download it to your computer, click on the GET EPISODE button or to subscribe to the AFC DONScast, click the SUBSCRIBE button next to our AFC DONScast logo.

DO I NEED TO HAVE AN iPOD OR MP3 PLAYER?
Not at all. You can listen to the AFC DONScast directly from your computer via the Reds Online website, on the main homepage where the latest episode is available or via the AFC DONScast replay in this section of the site.

If you are lucky enough to have an Apple TV hooked up to your telly, you can search and listen to the AFC DONScast through your tellybox.
